Born in Tunceli Eastern Anatolia in 1962, Adil Arslan first became acquainted with the ba\u011flama at the age of six. Soon after first plucking the three stringed instrument with a long neck, the love of his life and his career as a child musician began to unfold.<\/p>

After moving to Berlin in 1979, the ba\u011flama virtuoso, composer and singer Adil Arslan began developing a unique style of his own. Between 1982 and 1987 he performed for various European radio and television programs. In 1985 began the collaboration with Carlo Domeniconi, the Italian guitar virtuoso and composer, who shared his vision of fusing the best in the East with the best in the West. Inspired by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe\u2019s cycle of poems with the same title, Adil Arslan recorded an album on the ba\u011flama accompanied by a full orchestra, entitled West-\u00f6stlicher Divan. This album was released by CPR (Creative Partner Records) in Germany and by ART (Anatolien Radio and Television) in Turkey in 1986. In 1987, on the occasion of Berlin\u2019s 750th anniversary celebration, Adil Arslan and Carlo Domeniconi gave solo performances at the world premiere of a double concert for ba\u011flama, guitar and chamber orchestra at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall. Composed by Carlo Domeniconi, Concerto di Berlinbul was conducted by Prof. W. Thaerichen and accompanied by the Berlin Sibelius Chamber Orchestra. In a concert for Berlin\u2019s Academy of the Arts dedicated to traditional Turkish music, Adil Arslan lectured on the idiosyncrasies of ba\u011flama as a Turkish musical instrument. Concerto di Berlinbul was repeated at the Bellevue Palace in the presence of German President, Richard von Weizsaecker. The concert was received with great interest leading to successive performances in many other European cities with different orchestras.<\/p>

Finally, Concerto di Berlinbul was recorded in Ankara with a guitar solo by Carlo Domneiconi and a ba\u011flama solo by Adil Arslan, accompanied by the Presidential Symphonic Orchestra Ankara (CSO) under the direction of G\u00fcrer Aykal and recorded as a CD by Raks wich was released in 1993.\nWhile teaching in various music schools in Berlin since 1981, Adil Arslan has continued to be an interpreter of folk music, although his primary influence is western classical music. Arslan\u2019s work is driven by the conviction that only a synthesis of Eastern and Western elements can begin to bridge the gap between these two worlds.<\/p>

In 1992 Adil Arslan presented \u00dcryan to the public, a new album with his own compositions. He founded the deutsch-t\u00fcrkische Musikakademie and currently gives performances in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, thus furthering the intercultural dialogue.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Born in 1962 in Tunceli, Adil Arslan is a distinguished ba\u011flama virtuoso, composer, and vocalist, recognized in Europe and Turkey. Residing in Berlin since 1979, Arslan quickly gained attention through his performances on radio and television programs.<\/p>

Between 1980 and 1990, Adil Arslan studied under Nida T\u00fcfek\u00e7i, the founder and director of the Turkish Music State Conservatory at Istanbul Technical University, as well as the distinguished artist Ali Ekber \u00c7i\u00e7ek. During this period, he further developed his musical artistry through close interaction with these two eminent figures within the traditional me\u015fk (master-apprentice) practice.<\/p>

In 1985, he collaborated with guitarist and composer Carlo Domeniconi to bridge Eastern and Western musical traditions. During this collaboration, he released the album \u201cSemahlar\u201d accompanied by a chamber orchestra and named the work \u201cWest-Eastern Divan\u201d in reference to Goethe\u2019s collection of the same name.<\/p>

In 1987, on the occasion of Berlin\u2019s 750th anniversary, Arslan and Domeniconi performed the world premiere of the duo concerto \u201cConcerto di Berlinbul\u201d at the Berlin Philharmonie. Later that year, the concert was performed again at Berlin\u2019s Bellevue Palace in the presence of German President Richard von Weizs\u00e4cker. The work was also performed in various European cities by different orchestras.<\/p>

In 1991, \u201cConcerto di Berlinbul\u201d was recorded with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra Ankara under the direction of G\u00fcrer Aykal during a dedicated working session and released in 1993 on CD by Raks.<\/p>

Between 1981 and 1997, Arslan taught ba\u011flama at various music schools in Berlin. In 1998, he founded the Deutsch-T\u00fcrkische Musikakademie in Berlin, which he has directed since. His music is rooted in folk traditions while integrating Western classical elements to foster intercultural dialogue.<\/p>

His 1992 album \u201c\u00dcryan\u201d also includes his original compositions. Today, Arslan continues to present musical events at the Berlin Philharmonie, promoting cross-cultural exchange through his art.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
