Engin Karadag

He was born in Izmir in 1967. In 1984, he entered the State Turkish Music Conservatory at Ege University and graduated in 1989. In the same year, he was appointed as a research assistant at the university. In 1993, he completed his master’s degree at the Institute of Social Sciences of Ege University in the Department of Basic Sciences, Turkish Art Music Program, with his thesis titled "Kemani Haydar Tatlıyay (His Life and Works)". He served as head of the Department of Turkish Classical Music within the Department of Basic Sciences, as well as deputy director of the conservatory. He has participated in various concerts both in Turkey and abroad and has performed in numerous recitals. He is currently teaching solfeggio, theory of Turkish classical music, and violin at the State Turkish Music Conservatory of Ege University, and conducts several amateur choirs. He is married and the father of two children.
