In 2011, the joint collaboration between the BERLINER KONZERT CHOR and ORCHESTER and deutsch-türkische Musikakademie took place in the concert titled “The Light of the Bible and the Fire of Mevlana” at the Berlin Philharmonic.
A medallion in honor of the artist Aşık Veysel was created through the collaboration of the Universität der Künste Berlin, the Deutscher Musikrat, the Landesmusikrat Berlin and the deutsch-türkische Musikakademie. This special project was commissioned by the DTM and created by the artist Lucia Maria Hardegen. The purpose of this tribute is to commemorate Aşık Veysel’s artistic legacy and to honor his significant role in the world of music.
