He was born in Izmir in 1976 and completed his primary and secondary education in Balçova, Izmir.

In 1993, he was admitted to the Department of Basic Sciences at the State Turkish Music Conservatory of Ege University, where he began his undergraduate studies. In 1996, while still a student at the conservatory, he passed the examination held by TRT Izmir Radio and served as a kanun performer at TRT until 2000.

He graduated from the conservatory in 1998 and has been working there as a lecturer ever since.

In 2005, he began performing the santur in addition to the kanun as part of the Cevher-i Musiki ensemble, founded by Prof. Dr. M. Hakan Cevher.

He has participated in numerous concerts and events both in Turkey and abroad. He is married and the father of one child.
